As principal, Rosemary provides design leadership and project management. Before forming McMonigal Architects,
Rosemary practiced with small firms and as a corporate architect. She received a fellowship to work with
Arkkitehtitoimisto Annikki Nurminen, an architecture firm in Finland. A St. Paul native, Rosemary has a Bachelor of
Architecture and a Bachelor of Environmental Design from the University of Minnesota, Institute of Technology.
She was awarded a scholarship to study at Trinity College in Dublin, Ireland.
While her practice has included a number of corporate, institutional and education projects, Rosemary's major contributions have
been in the areas of housing. She is actively engaged in research projects and exploring new techniques for healthy living and
efficient construction.
She has lectured nationally for the American Institute of Architects and the Energy Efficient Building
Association, and taught for five years in the Design and Housing Department at the University of Minnesota.
Rosemary is active with the American Institute of Architects (AIA) nationally and locally. She is founding member and past
chair of the national committee AIA Small Project Forum. With AIA Minnesota, she has been active in a variety of committees
and as Board director.
